I have a 1950's house with sky blue tile in the shower and half way up all the walls, it comes out about an inch from the wall and I was told that there is a layer of plaster behind it. So removing it would be a huge pain.

So it was suggested to me to try to paint it with an automotive epoxy paint. Has anyone ever tried this? I know the paints made for tile dont turn out well, and it is to big a project for me to do myself(right now). I plan on tiling over the floor so its just the walls and tub surround I need to do.

Does anyone know if that type of paint would work as long as I prep the tile correctly?

Let me know what you think! I need a better looking bathroom!

Thanks,
