My brother has a GE Range and wanted me to see if I could get some information as what the problem may be.The serial #GM205725P/ model #JGBP26GEV2WH.
The surface burners are fine, It's only the oven.
We feel it is the igniter.
Any suggestions?
Thanks:

Hey guys I'm Willing to give you all the information you want.
This range works fine except for the oven, I don't know what else to say, the oven will not heat up. The broiler works fine.
All the top eyes works fine. If he could get the oven to work,
he would be in business.
This is a GE range serial #GM205725P-- model #JGBP26GEV2WH.
As I mentioned, we thought it might be the oven igniter but wanted to get your view as it is a non-returnable item.
If there is additional information you need, I would be happy
to give it to you, the only thing i'm sure of, is won't heat up.
I hope this helps some.
Thanks

Hello: verner34

If all the control selections are set correctly and the glow igniter fails to light, regardless of whether it is returnable or not, you'll need to replace it. Good idea to replace it even if it does glow. They wear out over time and usage and are often the cause of the problem you described.

Replacing the hot surface igniter (HSI) can be considered a first attempt to fix the problem. Not that difficult to do nor that expensive of a part. Considering the cost of any other part(s) which might be defective.

Replacing the hot surface igniter (HSI) is likely to resolve your ovens problem...

Reading some of the other posts in this forum, you'll notice replacing an igniter is one of the first attempts to resolve such problems. Reading the sticky note has a post within it that details the common method(s) for replacing an igniter.

Regards and Good Luck.
