Hi,
I have recently installed an HE360 into a Bryant Highboy style heat pump (FB4A Fan Coil Unit, 5 years old) The installation went well and the HE360 works except for one issue. I can't set the humidistat to anything other than the "test" / full on setting for it to work. I installed it using the sail switch and know that it works correctly since it does turn the unit on / off with the activation of the furnace fan. Both my furnace and HE360 are located in my garage (insulated) where the current temp. is around 40 deg. I have installed the humidistat (H8908B1002 model) into the return duct just below the sail switch . Is it possible that I have a faulty humidistat? , wired incorrectly, placed wrong, or should it be inside the house ? The humidity in my house is around 28 % from having unit on for less than a day.
I appreciate any help with this problem...Thank you.

Pretty simple t-stat there, shouldn't be much that can go wrong..
Let's make sure it's wired right.
one of the yellow wire from humidifier to humidistat. Other wire from humidistat to sail switch. last wire from sail back to other yellow from humidifier.
The humidistat can be in two places. if you have it on the return, did you cut out the hole for the humidistat to get a reading of the air in the return?

Well...
I've looked over the wiring again and noticed that it is hooked up correctly according to the diagram and your instruction. However, I have yet to see it turn on except for when it is running in the "test" / full on mode. The hole I made for it is in the air return and is getting plenty of air over the unit. Any other suggestions besides trying another humidistat? How long should it take for the unit to turn on if I have it dialed in at 60 with humidity in house at 25 -30 % ? I am going to test the humidistat with a multimeter to check resistance.

You may very well have a defective humidistat.. It should turn on right away.. it just an On and Off switch.

You could put a jumper across the wires in the humidistat and see if it works, if so, replace the humidistat.
