Hello:

I do handyman repairs, and there have been times when I have needed a way to test for the presence of natural gas.

I have used spray on LEAK DETECTOR sulutions on f
ttings, but would like a GOOD QUALITY SNIFFER. I see units at the box stores selling for $25.00 - $30.00 and wonder if such is what I should purchase.

Thanks for hearing me out, and I WELCOME ANY and ALL COMMENTS.

Dale

I couldn't comment on the cheaper ones. This is what I use http://www.bacharach-inc.com/informant_2A.htm

It's pricey but you get what you pay for.

Any of these are also good. I personally use the 8850.

Thanks to both of you for your time, and honest comments. I was hoping someone out there has used the less expensive units that are available at the big box store for around $30.00, I did go on line and found that one in the price range I have listed above does have positive feedback.

Thank You again,

Dale

I had the TIF mentioned by Hank Hill for several years. It's a great tool also.
