I have an ALPHA Systems water softener and after cleaning the tank I noticed that the brine tank didn't have a float in the brine well. Is mine missing or did it ever have one?
I inherited the unit with the house and don't know if it matters but it has the autotrol 155 head also.
Thanks

Be very weary of 'inherited' water treatment units. There may be a very good reason it is no longer used, namely it didn't work and the cost of getting it to work was not worth it.
Yes, it needs a float and a local plumbing supply store may be able to get you one. If not, call a water treatment company and they can order you one and get your unit serviced, too.
Good luck,
