My 2 year old Mammoth heat pump is not functioning properly. It runs for about 10-15 minutes and then the Auxillary heat circuit breaker trips. This is a recent problem and it was working fine just a few days ago. The pump just runs and will not get warm. I realize this is very limited information but are there any ideas about what might be the problem? Thanks.

What all runs in that 15 min. Outdoor compressor ??? Fan outdoors?? indoor fan??? You have a lot of IFS IFS here. If the tstat calls for heat and the out door unit dont run . In a short time the AUX will come on. Could have a short in the elements????????;)

I do not have an outdoor unit. Everything is in the basement. The thermostat calls for heat, the unit comes on, the fan runs and blows warm air for a short time, the breaker trips and the unit keeps running blowing lukewarm air.
