After replacing the heating element on my dishwasher, endeavouring to rectify the RCD tripping out on "Dry" cycle,
the control panel didn't scroll through wash cycle options. Noted the surface mount "Program" button on the PCB had no recoil ( staying on ) so replaced. Now, on start-up, a couple of lights come on but almost immediately go out and, even when on, no functions can be accessed. I have checked the new switch with a meter and all readings OK.
Since the switch was faulty I have not had a chance to actually try anything since replacing element.
Any thoughts?
Are there any switches underneath I could have altered to cause this problem?
Thanks in advance.

Figured it out myself ( thankfully ). Logically, with the "Program/Start" button faulty and always "On", when we used the "Clear" button, it engaged the Kid Lock which provides the symptoms I explained. Once dis-engaged, unit now appears to work properly and no longer trips RCD with the new element.
