I am planning to install a Honeywell Humidifier, model HE365A on my York 150K BTU gas furnace with add on heat pump and was trying to clarify the following. Since all my main ducting is made of the typical fiberboard do I need to put in a sheet metal plate to install the HE365 unit? I propose to do this by adding a plate on the inside and outside of the ducting on the heat side to mount the unit. Your help would be appreciated.

Sometimes it works better. If you break up like 2"or 3" deep U that will fit over the duct board there where you cut out. On all 4 sides. this way you have metal to mount the hum . On.

You are putting this on the supply side of the system since this is a powered unit, and tapping into hot water?
