Hi,

Our Thermador MTR 24-4 will not heat correctly. We put a roast in to cook for over an hour and when the time was up it looked like it had cooked some but at that time it was only slightly warmer than room temperature.

Since then I have looked at it using a current probe on the red line coming in and it looks like both the broil and bottom elements come on. However, by varying the thermostat I see that even with the oven cold the heating element turns on at 250. Also if I set it to 300 the element comes on and stays on and the thermostat still switches at 250 even if I wait 15 minutes.

This sounds like the thermostat to me. What do you think?

Also, what's inside the copper capillary tube? some sort of thermally conductive salt?
