Moose Z1100 system I, System II or Z1100e? They all program slightly differently.

You will need the installer manual (websearch using the phrase "Moose Z1100 installer manual"). This is not an intuitive system, you must have the reference.

Read through the archived posts here, this was a pretty common family of alarms, so they come up pretty often.

Need To Know H0w To Program A Moose 1100

The system works but over the years we forgot our password so we can't arm or dsarm the system. Does anyone know how to reset the code? I have the manuals but can't seem to get it. There is a program switch it looks like a safety pin. If anyone knows what to do please get in touch with me you can e-mail me at [please no email addresses on open forum; it attracts spambots]Thanks

The following threads tell you how to use the program switch to jump to program mode:

I have a Moose 1100e system with two keypads that will activate the system. I have three questions:

1) I can activate the system from one key pad all the time. The other key pad will allow activation at times and then at other times throws the system into a power down and reactivation loop. I just took the key pad off the wall and blew a lot of dust out of it. Could that have been the problem?

2) On the one keypad some of the zones are now mispelled and there is an extra zone. (example 001 Fronkdoor)
How do you go in and correct the spelling on the different alarm zones?

3) On the one keypad that has been giving me the above problem there is an extra alarm zone listed. Is that necessary to have that extra zone on that extra keypad? If not how hard is it to remove that zone? Is it advisable to do so?

I guess that is more like 5 questions in all. Thanks in advance for any help.

What you have is a Z1100e with Z1100ST keypads. First, you have to accept the fact that this thing is 15-20 years old at best, and the second law of thermodynamics hasn't been repealed. I suspect that you have had a few power failures with a weak backup battery, which is known to make Moose panels have some odd behavior in terms of programming. Otherwise, I would guess that the most used keypad is simply wearing out.

First you need the manual: http://www.nassecurity.com/manuals/MOOSE-Z1100ST.pdf

You also need the program authorization code (PAC).

When you are looking at posts about moose panels, look carefully, there are large programming differences between the Z1100, Z1100 system II, and the Z1100e.
