Our washing machine is leaking from the bottom of the machine. All connections and drain hoses are fine. I can't figure out how to open the top of the machine to expose the area around the tub. I know it is hinged and I can see two brackets inside the front, but how do you release them?
This is a toploading machine.
Thanks,
Sandy

What is the brand and model number? Different brand machines come apart in different ways.

If I remember correctly on this one, there are two clips that are in between the top and the front panel. A putty knife can be used to press the clips in and lift the top up. Then there are two screws that attach the front panel of the washer to the rest of the cabinet.

I had a washer that was leaking from the bottom once. In my situation it was the drain hose coming off of the pump. I just threw on a hose clamp and snugged it up. Problem solved. Here is a link for you. It is a break down of your machine.
