I clean the caburator and had to disconnect the governor. Now when I put a load on the generator the engine does not came up to the right RPM. What is the right way to set the governor so this does not happen

Sorry, I know nothing about Yamaha small engines. I didn't even know they made generators. Stay tuned, someone here may know about them.
Generally, to set a governor, you hold the carb at wide open throttle, along with the throttle linkage, and position the governor shaft at the wide open throttle setting, and tighten the clamping screw.
