Hi,

Having problems with my Performa gas dryer
Model # PDGT920AWW.

It doesn't want to heat up on any setting, Timed or Auto any heat level. All duct worked is spotless, just changed that yesterday, lint trap area shop vac'd out.

It did fire today on Timed Reg Heat dry,

Now it won't fire on anysetting...wondering if I have a bad ignigtor, fuse or Temp/Moisture Sensor?

Any and all help would be great!

Mike

Hello Mike. Welcome to the Gas Appliances topic and the Do-It-Yourself Web Site.

Most common causes are a weak glowing or burned out (HSI) hot surface glow igniter or defective solenoids. Solenoids are located on top of the gas control valve.

Both the solenoids and or the HSI are the least expensive and easiest parts to replace, as a first attempt to fix the dryer. Timer may be the cause but costs are higher.

Additional Suggestions:
Read the manufacturers online web site for product information, problem possibilities, causes, solving methods, part locations, disassembly, reassembly methods, repair procedures, pictorials, schematics, down loadable repair and or owners manuals which may be available online.

Retail appliance parts dealers can also help determine what the most likely possible problem may be. They will need the make, model and serial numbers. Appliance parts dealers are an excellent source for original replacement parts and problem resolving matters. Dealers are listed in the phone book under appliances.

Be sure the electrical power to the appliance is turned off, before attempting any repairs or services. Always check for gas leaks whenever moving the appliance and/or a service or repair includes any connection of a gas part.
