Hi!
Newcomer to this forum!
Need opinion/advice: I have laminated flooring in my dining room that is a light colored "red oak". I hired a contractor to lay it and realized I could do that so I've done a couple of bedrooms and now want to get the rest of the carpet out of my home. We want to put laminate down in the living room which joins the dining room but we don't want the red oak flooring. Obviously the option of taking up that flooring exists but the flooring is nice and it would mean an additional cost of at least $1500 just in material. Any opinions/suggestions on using another design or color when the floors will join?
Also, the dining room floor actually runs with the joists because that is the length of the room but I want to run the living room across the joists for the same reason. Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.
