I have recently sold a house with closing occuring approximately two weeks ago. The buyers are now complaining about a couple of interior doors not latching properly, the dishwasher only working on pots and pans setting, and trim being put up upside down (don't know what they mean by that??). They haven't asked for any money, or for us to pay for repairs, but do they have any legal standings when it comes to small items such as doors not latching?
The buyers did have an inspection done and the inspector did not identity any of these as problems.
These are all items that we were not aware of any problems with and therefore did not have any knowledge to disclose.
The house is 10-15 years old. I would assume that when buying a house that is 10 years old there should be some kind of expected small general repairs and maintenance that should be expected and assumed by the buyer.

The house is now theirs - their inspection/counteroffer should have pointed out any issues they wanted corrected. Unless your sales contract warranted the house against defect after the sale (unlikely) - it's not your problem..... (unless, of course, you were aware of items on the property disclosure form and didn't admit to it)

These folks sound like first-time buyers (or just general whiners). What's the point of complaining about a door that doesn't latch? Practically anybody can fix that. As for the trim, I have seen a couple of instances of crown molding installed upside down.

They haven't asked for any money or for any repairs. Just ignore them for now. Do not respond.

I agree - not your problem. Ignore them and move on.
