I started the tractor today on full choke after several attempts it started and was running on full throtle for about a minute, when I heard a loud pop and the engine died. Attemps to turn the key give a faint whinning sound, but nothing is turning or moving. Any Ideas? Thanks in advance.

How's the oil level in the motor?

Is the engine turning when you turn the key? Could be the starter is not engaging the flywheel.

I am not familiar with any HT 2013. There was the HT 3813 and 4213, and there is a harmony 2013, but not with the HT designation that I'm aware of. The only reason I'm asking is to find out which 13hp engine you have. Is it single cylinder?

The actual model number is H2113 GDA and the engine model is GXV390. When you turn the key it's one click and a hum or whine type of sound. The oil is full. It was running on full throttle then bang. Now its dead. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Looks like the engine threw a connecting rod. When you turn the shaft to the pulley it comes to a dead stop with a metal clank. Guess Santa needs to get me a new tractor for Christmas.

I was afraid that you would have that problem. What about repowering it?
