I Had My Heat Pump Moved By A Tech.since Then My Heat Pump Will Not Heat My House Without My Oil Furnace Coming On To Supplement Heat.he Says He Does Not Understand Because No Gas Was Lost.just Wondering If You Can Move The Heat Pump Withouth Losing Gas. Also Could It Be Possible Thath He Didnt Evacuate It Right And There Is Non Condensale Or Air Left In System.big Copper Pipe Gets Hot But Does Not Put Out Enough Heat Even At 28 F.

He Did Not Put New Dryer.as Far As I Know He Said He Did Not Loose Any Gas So Hes Assuming Gharge Is Still Good.my Question Is How Can You Cut Copper Pipes And Not Loose Gas.also How Long Would You Have To Evacuate System After. I Am Guessing But I Think He May Have Left Vaccum Pump On For 15 Minutes.

Did he run the unit for a while and utilize the heat pump to store the refrigerant ? If he did it that way he probably did not lose much refrigerant. I woould have ran my vacuum pump longer than 15 minutes though. It's possible that there is non condensables in the system. Any time a refrigeration circuit is open a new drier should be installed.
It would be tough for a heat pump to put out much heat when it's 28º outside.
