Hello,
I live in a very old house, recently my wife and I repaired a wood floor that was drilled man years ago for termites. There exists the original concrete floor, then about a foot above that, the first wood floor, then several layers of plywood, then the new wood floor that we repaired. We filled all the holes that had been drilled through with expanding foam. But the floor in that room is very very cold. I was wondering what, if anything, could be done? Can/should we open the floor back up and have insulation blown in? Is that even possible? This room buts up to the main house, but there is nothing underneath.
Thank you,
Micky

You could have some foam shot under there. You really wouldn't have to fill the whole void to get a warmer floor. If you were going to try to use a more conventional insulation, you would need a vapor barrier/retarder on the concrete. That would be hard to do unless you could get under there.

A lot of the cold may be coming in through the foundation perimeter and then getting in that area between the concrete and your floor. Pink or blue board can be put 3-4 feet below grade up agaisnt the foundation wall.
