We have a relatively new electric heat pump. I observed theres ice formed inside and outside the heat pump outside and the fan is making a noise as it hits the ice. Any ideas? I appreciate any info as to why this could be happening asap. Thanks, Mal

If the outdoor unit is building up so much ice that the fan is hitting it you should place a call to the installer. It may not be going into defrost mode as designed.

With Matt. If that bad fan hit ice .Sounds like the defrost board didnt work right. Call a tech now.
