I have a john deere 130 tractor with the kohler cv23s engine with 70 hrs on it. This year it has started to smoke on start up the smoke is blue oil smoke which clears up after a couple minutes. The oil is clean and the oil level is not going down.Any ideas? Jim

I moved this post. For some reason it was attatched as a reply to an unrelated thread about a craftsman from over 7 years ago.

A little smoke just at startup is fairly common on Kohlers, but any more than a little, and any longer than a few seconds is probably too much. It sounds like yours could still be under warranty (70 hrs). If so, contact them and let them repair it.
