I have a craftsman yard vac. It had a tecumseh 5.5 HP engine. The wire sticking out of the plastic housing that is used as the kill switch fell off somewhere. I am going to try and duplicate the wire however I dont know how it is connected. Does it go completely through the plastic housing and connect to the green kill wire ??? My tecumseh tach handbook says the linkage touches this wire sticking out of the plastic housing and and kills the engine. It says it is connected to the green kill wire but how ???? Thank you in advance.

I don't know what engine you have, or the setup, but the green wire is usually the kill wire on tecumsehs. Ground that wire to kill the ignition. I am not sure how they had it connected to this other wire, but I assume a butt connector would be suitable?
