I have a new water heater, has worked well since it was installed one month ago. Suddenly, two days ago, when we had a storm come through, rain and wind, it stopped working. Now we get the pilot to light and the burner eventually comes on but after about 10 minutes they go out. There is a lot of soot on the exhaust pipe by the ceiling and outside on the pipe on the roof as if it is burning too hot. We are on propane and the plate on the outside says its a propane tank. Of course its the weekend and we can't get manufacturer to send a repair person out till Monday.
