If we suspect the thermostat is the problem with our heat pump not working, how can we check if that's the problem? Replacement only? Or is there another way?

Thanks

With the cover off the tstat. Take and jump R to G should get fan R to W EME heat R to Y the compressor. With meter R to C should have 24V.

We changed the thermostat on the wall, and still didn't work. Finaly found the fuse in the circuit board, looked, and it didn't look burned. Decided to look again and run the meter across it, and finally saw where it went bad.

Where can we buy them? Hardware store? Or do we have to go to a specialty store to buy it?

Thanks
