I have a SimpleComfort 2200 thermostat. It suddenly starting showing "set 45" The actual room temp was 75. I inserted fresh batteries and I still could not reset it. Someone said it had a reset button inside but it does not as I can see. I fooled around with it and it finallly reset saying room temp 75. I set it to cut off at 78. It worked fine and then all day read the correct temp. Now the next day I looked at it and it reads 45 again. The unit is set for heat but is not needing any at this time so of course it won't come on. Do I need a new one or is there something I can do so it will work all the time. I'm in Florida but it is subject to get cold here at times.

Sometimes thermostats can act crazy. If powering down doesn't cure it, you should probably just replace it.

The thermostat is disposable so dispose of it man, get yourself a nice honeywell or something.
