I have a old tecumseh model H70-130159A SER 3261D engine on a John Deere snowblower. I am guessing, but I estimate the vintage to be about 1974. Do I need to use lead substitute in the gas when operating this engine?

No, regular grade gasoline nowadays is fine. Valve seat wear in car engines was a concern when engines went no-lead. They since have found out things weren't as bad as they thought. A small engine on a snow blower won't get enough running time, or run hot enough to even be a concern in the lon run, IMO.

Agree, my father still operates his old faithful 1962 riding mower and it runs just as good on no-lead gas as it did on leaded gas.
