I am replacing my old thermostat. its a round style gold tone (honeywell maybe?) has 30v max stamped inside it ( i assume this means 24V sys?) . my system is all outside. York gas heat/electric ac. Conventional NOT HEAT PUMP.
old thermostat wired as such:
g,r,w,y, and B
traced the B terminal copper strip on old thermostat it goes to the "slider switch" on the left hand side of thermostat for Cool/off/Heat. it engages when slide to heat.
new thermostat Honeywell VisionPRO 8000 TH8321U1006

it does not have a terminal marked B
it has for conventional:
rc,r(jumpered to rc),w,y,g.c,Y2,W2,S1,S2
I landed G,Y,R,W. to same on new thermostat.
What about the B? (wire is blue or Indigo as my kid says)

Go down to your furnace and see if you can find where the Blue wire goes to.
Why did you go with this t-stat? Why not TH8110?

traced to outside package, blue wire was wrapped out of the way. Hooked up 4 wires works great! I choose this thermostat because i found a deal for them. i needed 3.
