Hello,
Has anyone ever tried to build a shower base using some type of quikrete products as the finish material? If so, What is involved in building the forms? Should it be reinforced with steel? Is a vapor barrier needed? How long do you think it would take to build a standard 5' X 4' shower base? The house is on a slab. Thank you for the help!! :)

I'm not sure what you are getting at here. Here's a good step by step on how to build a custom shower pan. This is on a framed wood floor but on a concrete slab the steps would be pretty similar.
