Do you have a 6160/6139 keypad or the equivalent? You need this to be able to see the prompts in the zone programming menu system. Do you have the installer code?

_Any_ compatible keypad will go into program mode. _ONLY_ the 2 line alphanumeric keypads like the 6160 will get you into the menu for adding devices. The following will let you add a contact blindly, but it's really easy to get lost without the prompts. _Read_ the *56 programming instruction in your manual before you try this.

Read through the archived posts concerning Ademco design panels, the same issues come up over and over. Also, learn the device in; _then_ mount it. That way you don't have to race around tripping the device in the time allotted.

[enter programming mode]
*56
Prompt: Program Tool? The correct answer should be no (0).

xx* * to select zone number desired and skip the summary screen

03* for zone type
01 00* for report code
3* for device type
2* to select loop 2 (Yup, the built in reed switch is loop _2_!)
The next prompt is Learn S/N: enter 1*, then trip the transmitter by moving the magnet away from the reed switch (2 beeps) confirm by closing again (3 beeps)

(summary screen) Press * (pressing 0 at this point _deletes_ the serial number)

(program alpha?) Press 0

At this point you should be back to the zone select: enter 00 to get out of *56

Thanks so much for the information, Does each zone hold one wireless device? I saw the bay alram installer have wrote down 9, 10, 11, 12 for my 3 of the wireless contact and one wireless montion. Before I start trying this Should I use 13 as my zone number for the extra wireless?

Yes, 13 and 14 would be fine for the extra zones. Make sure you let bay alarm's central station know what these zones are.

REALLY, I have to let them know!! The resaon way I add this myself is to try to save some money. If I really need to let them know would they charge me more????

No, unless your monitoring contract is really weird, they won't charge more for new zones, but they do need to know what the new zone signals _mean_ so that they know how to respond to them.
