I have (2) Ademco 6128 keypads - at entrance and master bedroom. A few buttons on the entrance keypad stopped working, so I removed the master bedroom keypad and replaced the entrance keypad with it.
Since I rarely used it, I do not need a new keypad in the master bedroom. Now the entrance keypad (relocated from master bedroom) shows "check 09".
Can I simply remove the wire in the panel for the old keypad location so that it stops detecting a keypad that is no longer there? Or is there more to it?
Thank you in advance for your help!

check 09 is a code for supervision. It's still thinking the keypad is there. You need to enter program mode to tell it to stop. I don't have that information availible to me. It differs from model to model. I'm assuming you don't have the program guide. I don't use Ademco keypads. I use DSC. So i'm limited on an answer for you. Other than you need the program guide to enter the programming functions.

On most of the older Ademco style systems "Check 09" is loss of communication with a zone expander/wireless receiver.
The odds are that the keypad you disconnected is 6128RF model, and is also your wireless receiver.
