Does anyone know the difference between the polypropylene faced versus foil faced basement blankets made by Certainteed and Owens Corning. They both have the same R value but I'm wondering if there is a signficant difference in the radiant heat transmission. The data sheets don't say.
I have an unfinished baesment area with about 4 feet above grade and I think the easiest way to insulate is with a horizontal blanket on the above grade portion. I am aware of the mold concerns but I am willing to experiment given the ease and low cost.
Thanks.
