I am having trouble with a spot approx. 6" along the oval in the middle of my fiberglass door it's not accepting my paint! any ideas?

when you say along your oval you mean next to glass, right? sometimes that is not fiberglass, but a rubberized coating. you will need to prime that. but here is the kicker, sometimes you can't and what works once may not work again. I usually head for UMA made by XIM, it sticks to many hard to paint plastics.

If this is a new door - did you sand or clean off any foreign substance on the door or moulding?

Thanks for the reply , I cleaned,but didn't sand,It's a spot the size of maybe a pencil just next to the trim of the glazing,it's accually on the door, I'll try sanding it. The rest of the door took paint fine,it just that one spot.

It is some type of contamiment which will either need to be removed or sealed with a primer. Hopefully sanding will do the trick for you :)
