My leaf blower (Stihl BR340 backpack model) does not operate at full power. It was working fine but not sure what caused it. I have emptied the gas tank and refueled with right fuel-oil mixture (50:1 as suggested by the manfaturer). The spark plug seems fine, too. Any suggestion? It is not even one year old. Thank you for your help.

P.S.: While I was anxiously wating for suggestions, I tried a few things. I pulled out the fuel line - fuel is flowing freely to the carbeurator. I pulled out a filter that is attached to the fuel tank and cleaned it out with Gumout. I sprayed the the Gumout from the nozzle and if flows out from the other end thrrough the filter. The engine starts with no problem. Anything else should I try? Thank you for your help.

First thing to look at is the muffler and exhaust port.
There is a screen in the exhaust that gets easily clogged,
and can be cleaned by burning the carbon out with a
lighter. Also, bugs hiding from winter can build nests in
the exhaust. It is kind of like a potato in your cars tailpipe, no power.

It is commonly caused by a clogged/dirty air filter,
so cleaning/replacement might be needed.

Running too rich of a fuel mixture can accelerate the spark arrestor getting clogged. I hope you are using Stihl oil in your blower. Have a good one. Geo
