Priming new drywall with Sherwin Williams pre prite 200 (No texture on walls). After I get done with one coat I can still see the mudded areas in comparison to the drywall paper but only when looking down the side of the wall.
My question is - Is this normal? Should I be doing two coats of primer before paint? Or will the 2 coats of paint hide this difference further.
NEED HELP QUICK!!!
THANKS!

1 coat of primer is fine! It isn't the primers job to cover - only to seal and provide a good base for the top coat.

Thanks....I was just reading somebody saying the same thing. I thought it was the other way around since the primer is supposed to be a good "hide" type of primer. I was getting worried that somethig wasn't right!
I feel much better now!

Paint is what does the hiding, primer makes the paint stick better and more evenly and seals the surface to keep what's underneath from bleeding through.
