Ive finally finished installing Bamboo flooring downstairs and want to do the stairs next, I know they have pre made pieces that are made for stairs (rounded edges) but cant I make my own with a router? Any suggestions? Id rather do the work myself as I have all the tools etc. Thanks!!

Sure, you can do this yourself. Go for it.

After routering should I put laquer on the routered edges to protect them? Or what should I put on them? Any special bit I should use?

Use a round over bit. You will need to put some type of finish on the raw wood - preferably the same type type that is already on the rest of the wood.

I'd be a little concerned about the width of the flooring - will it allow you to secure it well and still hang over the riser a little bit?

good question, its the 3 1/4 wide planks, maybe liquid nails and nails? Or is there another way?
