:thinker: Well i'm back with another Snapper problem. This is an older model that i can't get any spark to the plug from the magneto/coil. I was considering replacing the original mag with another mag/coil from a Briggs mower and was wondering what the wires that go under the flywheel do on the Snapper?
I've troubleshot the deck switch and detent switch without luck. The electric starter turns it over but there is'nt any spark to the plug.. Any other suggestions before I make the swap?

I believe that engine has points (where the wire from the coil going under the flywheel goes). You can service these points (change them and set them), or you can clip the wire and replace the coil with a newer one that has solid state ignition. I'd go with the electronic coil...it's much easier to do, more reliable, and accurate.
