If I want to install my under cabinet fixtures away from the wall and more toward the front of the cabinet as most suggest. We're using fairly generic one inch thick and 3 inch wide T5 fixtures and I would like to know what to do about the wiring between the fixture and the wall. Do you just leave the Romex exposed or is there a much more aesthetic way of installing? Thanks for any suggestion.

Box in the cavity on the bottom of the cabinet flush with the bottom of the face frame and attach light to this new surface. Run the wires in the cavity you created. Good luck with your project.

In 99.99% of the kitchens in this country, the romex is left exposed and fastened to the bottom of the cabinet with a clamp and short screw.
I assume that you have an 1-1/4" light rail around the bottom of your cabinets.
No one will ever see the wire under there unless they lay down on the countertop.
