We have old and ugly kitchen cabinets. I cannot afford to reface. I heard I can paint over them. I was wondering if anyone has done it. They have some type of faux-wood grain shiny look to them. They're not solid wood, I guess it's like a laminate type surface?? I'm not too savvy with the terminology..sorry. It looks like that furniture you can get in a box and put together yourself. I'm sure someone knows what i mean! What would be the best way to paint over it? Thanks!

A little sanding should prepare the surface for a paint job. Should not be too tough.
