hi,
i'm trying o install a ceiling fixture and have come across this problem:
my ceiling box has 2 wires (black and yellow)
the fixture I bought has 3 wires (black, white, yellow).
what connections should i make here?

The Yellow in the ceiling is likely an aging yellowed white wire.
The yellow on the fixture is likely a yellow/green grounding wire.
If both of those are the case, simply connect the yellow/green to the ceiling box with a screw, then black to black , white to yellowed white
