I have a large aquarium cabinet (8'W X 4'H) that I would like to relaminate. My questions are do I need to remove the old laminate (it's in good condition, just the wrong color) or can I just sand it to roughen up the surface and put the new laminate over it? Also the stand is four feet tall and has a rounded vertical edge (the curve begins 2 3/4 inches from the corner). Can I bend the laminate myself to accomadate this curve and what thickness laminate would I need to deal with this curve? Thanks in advance for any advice. Steve

Vertical surfaces and curves often use a thinner laminate than that used for counter tops.
Here is an article on bending laminate.

Hope this helps.
