I just made a relaxed roman shade but when I raise it, the sides pull in. Should I have used ring tape? Someone said that would be too stiff and show the seam lines. I thought using a bar would not allow it to softly drape so I did not use one. Also I am wondering if my window is too wide? It is 46.5" wide. Again, the salesperson at the fabric store thought the width was fine. I wanted to go ahead and make several more for the rest of the room but want to do it the right way!!!

Hi and you didn't do anything wrong, that's a side effect of relaxed romans. :D
What you need to do is add a weight rod above the bottom rings or if you've made extra permanent folds, above that set of rings. It doesn't need to be heavy (unless you used a cord lock) and you want to make a fabric sleeve for it and it gets tacked on each side above the rings (the length should be from ring to ring). Another trick that's helpful, is to make the shade 1-2" wider and just make a little tuck at each end (on the top of the board). This allows a little bit of ease to keep the shade from pulling in.

Thank you! I will try the rod pocket above the last row of rings. Do I sew all the way through the face material or just the lining?

Just sew it to the lining on each side, not thru to the front.
I'm thinking, if you made extra folds, instead of sewing it on top of the last row of rings, sew it in the middle of the last row and the row before that (so it'll lay in the fold) and this will help hide the weight rod a little. If you didn't make extra folds, then you'll need to sew it on top of the bottom row.
