I need help replacing or repairing the electrical fluorescent balast remote dimmer unit in my ceiling fan which plugs into the double ring bulbs which, by the way, I have been ordering by mail since I can not seem to find them in the San Antonio area.
The light grew very dim and would no longer adjust when the button was pushed, then it went out and when I replaced the bulb it would no longer work at all. Can I find the balast dimmer unit itself to purchase for replacement?
Please help. Thank you.

is the ballast dimmer a ballast that dims, or is it a dimmer and a ballast seperate?

Are you sure that the ballast is rated for dimming?
I have never seen a circline lamp rated for dimming.
This may be your problem.
Please post the catalog number and manufacturer of the existing ballast and lamp and we'll see what can be done for you.
