i have a tempstar gaspack model pgaa30dik3
serial no l961254189
i have replaced the heat exchanger, collection box and indution motor ........all that went well !!!!!!!!
now the problem ..........test fired the unit and everything ran good EXCEPT in the middle of the manifld where the ignitor and pilot are is a yellow flame that stays on while the unit is running......it is sooting the heat exchanger right at the 2nd tube and the flame is lapping up against the top gaurd above the maniflod......
does the pilot stay on after the unit fires???? i need help with this so that i can run the unit continually......

Hi dal:
Your unit has the Honeywell Smart Valve system. The ignitor goes off but the pilot burner stays lit. You need to remove the pilot burner and clean it both inside and out. That should square it away.
