I have reupholstered a small bench with wrapped arms and now I need to replace 4 covered buttons at the front and back of each arm. These buttons where covered with the same fabric as the bench and where nailed into the wood arm. Where do I find these buttons to cover with the matching fabric that can be nailed back into the arms?
I have searched the web and come up with listings for no dent corrigated nail backs but I do not know what kind of button to use them with? The fabric I am using has some bulk to it.
Thanks, Donna

Hi Donna,
If you have a Joann's Fabrics near you, they sell the cover your own button forms in different sizes and you can take out the prong thing and see if it'll fit the nail backs. Normally, the nail molds use the button molds that are covered with a button machine and dies and this is pretty pricey.
If you have an upholstery shop near you, you might want to just pay them to do it for you.

Shadeladie,

Thank you for your response. I sat quietly last night and was able to reuse the button covers that came off of the bench. I had to carefully squeeze each one closed with the help of some fabric glue inside each button to hold the bulky upholstery fabric. thank goodness this is not a bench that is frequently used. It really is kind of a show piece.
I love the Van Gogh Quote!
