I purchased 2 gallons of the Domco/Tarkett 800 pressure sensitive adhesive for installing a Nafco luxery vinyl tile floor. I almost completed the job with 2 gallons but I have about 10 square feet left and no more glue.

The unfinished area is primarily inside a closet with a washer/dryer inside so it will get no foot traffic.

The original adhesive is described as:
base: acrylic latex emulsion
consistency: soft paste
color: off white

It was spread on with a 1/16" trowel.

A gallon of the Domco stuff runs about $40 but I really only need a small quantity to finish up the job. Is there any subtitute that can be safely used to finish up the job or should I go ahead and pay the extra $40 for an entire gallon?
