I have a new fixture installed in the basement, my only question is wiring now.
I have the wire leading to the switch for the new fixture affixed closely to an existing fixture (I'd like to include the new fixture in the current lighting circuit in the basement). The existing fixture has 3 wires leading into it. 2 of them have black, white, and ground wires, while one of them has black, white, red, and ground. What do I hook to what?
Thanks for any help, and I apologize if my description is unclear; I'll be happy to answer and clarifying questions.

I do not understand what you are saying about the wiring you have added.
Tell us about the existing light and switch and it's wiring. Tell us all the wiring.
Then tell us what you want to use to power your new light. I am assuming you want to power it from the existing light's circuit. I am unsure if you want it on a separate switch or if you want it to use the same switch. Depending on how the existing light is wired, you may be able to garb power from the switch or from the existing light. Only you can tell us which is easier to get at.
