We are planning on replacing our old formica countertop with tiles. We will remove the counter, install new plywood and cement backerboard before tiling. The sink we have is a drop in stainless steel which is in great shape. Do we have to get a different sink or will this one work? Is there a special sink that is used for tiled countertops? I read somewhere about a 'tile' sink which when installed, you grout between it and the tiles. But no one seems to know what I am talking about and I'm not even sure about it. Thanks!

You can reuse the same drop in sink. Opening will have to be the same size as the old. Run a bead of silicone caulk around edge of opening and drop in the sink.

You can reuse the sink if you're very careful not to damage it when you remove it.

You can use the same sink! make sure the tile goes under the lip of the sink ( ie: 1/8 inch from the edge of the sink hole) and caulk the edge of the lip and Drop it in!! secure it with the clips under the countertop, Wipe the excess caulk that squezzzzzes out with a good sponge or wet rag, re-connect the plumbing and your done!!:D
