I have a 6 month old table that had a lot of smudge marks on it that did not come off by using furnture polish our wood cleaner. The problem occured when I went out of town for a week and my sister waxed the table using Johnsons Wax (2 coats:wall: ). The wax bubbled and dried. Now I have little spots where the bubbles were and there is one 3-4 inch spot where the wax chipped leaving a jagged looking hole. Please help! Can the wax be removed? What would I use to remove the wax without removing the polyurethene underneath.
Thank You

Paint thinner (mineral spirits) will cut most wax. Use in conjunction with a plastic mesh scrubbie (for washing dishes) and wipe clean with paper towels.
If the mineral spirits doesn't do it, naphtha will.

I only wish to add that good ventilation is important when working with mineral spirits.

If the wax contained solvents and you have a lacquer finish, the finish may be damaged. Mineral spirits will not harm lacquer finish.
