I have already bought the new fixture and taken a look up in my attic to locate the housing for the old one. How should I go about removing the old one and installing the new one. I do know that I will most likely have to cut a little bit larger hole to fit the new fan. Thanks for any help you can give

First, it needs its' own 20A circuit.
How it comes out depends on how it was installed. If it was installed the normal way, from the room up into the opening, it is likely nailed or screwed to the framing. There may also be 'wings' that come out at the bottom and are screwed into the framing. If it went in from the room side, it will come out from the room side. Do you have access to the attic side of the heater??

As Bill said, if the old unit did not have a heater, and the new one does, then the existing wiring is very unlikely to be sufficient for this new unit.
