What tool/method is best for cutting off the bottoms of vertical vinyl vanes to shorten them?

A good shears or scissor will work but it's difficult to cut them perfectly straight. A paper cutter works well and gives you a perfect cut.

Often these vanes have rounded off corners..
rounded corners or not, its always a good idea to use a spare vane as a template and trace its bottom on your new one where you want to cut it.. this way you make sure everything is square and consistant..
then just use a decent pair of scissors

If you have the ability to cut multiple vanes at once, you'll get better precision.
