Hello, what does anyone think about the General Electric Lights and Sounds of Christmas outlets controller. The holidays will soon be approaching and I was wondering what people think of this product. It is a device that has six outlets and it can control all of your holidays lights(or whatever you plug in the outlets) randomly syncronized with the 20+ songs it supposedly has stored.

Thanks in advance for any opinions, suggestions, etc.

I am trying it out, but it is no Light-O-Rama thats for sure. I have it plugged into a timer but it wont turn on even when the music box switch is on. I need to go outside and turn it off then on again...then it works. Oh and the songs are to short, exspecailly the "Carol Of The Bells".

Anyhow it will have to do for this season, but next season will be different I hope.

that must be what my neighbor has. Not too bad from what I saw but it does not compare to this

the original. I think. (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2355229097842148650&q=wizards+of+winter&total=1458&start=100&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=3)

Another Negative reply....I had it set to the musical light show to see if it would come on when the timer came on, guess what it worked, now that is positive. The negitive side is this, the musical box started in fast mode (sped up on its own), it may be because of the -20+ degrees weather we are having in our neck of the woods.

As they say....you get what you pay for.

Hope it's not too late to chime in here (pardon the pun).

I got one of these to see if I thought it worth trying to upgrade to a Light O'Rama. You know, to practice on. This one isn't too bad for me, but I think now that I know how these work, I may ultimately upgrade.

Mine worked out pretty good. You have to read the directions to understand how each of the six channels works in order to get your lights hooked up the way you want them. I've seen pretty bad store displays, so I think a lot of people are turned off by it.

I spent more on extension cords than I did on the unit. If you have two sets of lights next to each other that you want to be controlled separately, you need an extension cord for each one. You CAN'T hook them together on a single extension. I lined my driveway with twelve of those little candy canes (alternating 6 read and 6 white) and wanted all the reds together and all the whites together. I ended up making two extension cords to fit them so all the reds are on one and all the whites are on another so they can be plugged into separete channels. Tree on far side of driveway; extension cord. Two trees next to each other; two extension cords. Looks cool, but it adds up!

Also, I have mine on a timer and haven't had any isses at all. The lights and music come on right at 5:30 everynight. And we've already had about 4 inches of snow to cover everything, melt off and it still works fine.

Good luck!
Tom
